- Shark Point, a small rock outcropping about 1½ hrs East of Phuket, is a famous marine sanctuary due to its tremendous variety of marine life. Particular attractions you should look out for are the colorful soft corals and sea fans decorating the limestone pinnacle, the great range of tropical fish and the famous leopard sharks, found on the sandy bottom.
- Anemone reef is located not far from Shark Point is similar in character and you will be amazed at its extensive fields of sea anemones. Vast fields of anemones that filling every conceivable surface and swing and sway with the current creating an illusion of it being a giant living rock.

Ideal for Nitrox, Multi Level, UW Photography, Naturalist, Deep Diver Details: Shark Point consists of three sub sea pinnacles, the largest just breaking the surface and appearing as a barren rock outcropping.
Also known as Hin Muang or Shark Rock. This site commonly has strong ocean currents that bring nutrient rich water which tends to draw in Whale Sharks and other pelagics for feeding. Divers here are virtually guaranteed to swim amongst enormous schools of Great Barracuda, Five-lined Snappers, Gold-striped Fusiliers and the occasional Leopard Shark resting quietly on the seabed. The reef consists of three main sections and most divers could spend several days at least exploring the site which is arguably the most popular of all the local day-diving sites. Currents can be brisk at this site but they tend run parallel to the reef sections and allow for an excellent drift dive back to the dive boat |

Ideal for Nitrox, Multi Level, UW Photography, Naturalist, Deep Diver Details: This unique dive-site is soars 30 meters up from the seafloor to just beneath the surface then abruptly ends and drops back to a bottom of sand and oyster shells. This barely submerged reef is located less than a mile north of Shark Point. The Thai name for this site is Hin Jom (underwater rock). Although not as colorful as Shark Point this site is famous for its huge fields of sea anemones covering every conceivable surface and swing and sway with the current creating an illusion of it being a giant living rock. The profusion of sea anemones and the nutrient-rich water are a magnet to a constant parade of reef fish seeking food and shelter. Enormous schools of tropical fish, snappers, groupers, and colorful clown fish, along with larger game-fish like jack and barracuda, and the occasional leopard shark can be seen passing by. Anemone Reef is also famous as a site for to viewing lionfish sometimes encountered in groups of dozens or more. |
